- September 10, 2004 in Prague: „Saaz Talks (Zatecke rozhovory), a workshop with lectures concerning on the history of Saaz|Žatec.
- September 11, 2004: International meeting of the people from Saaz|Žatec on the occasion of the Millennium celebrations.
- September 12, 2004: Ceremonial mass in the main church of Saaz|Žatec in both German and Czech language.
- November 16, 2004: Memorial ceremony in cooperation with the Jewish community of Teplitz/Teplice in remembrance of the „Reichskristallnacht“. Unveiling of a commemorative plaque for the Jewish citizens of Saaz|Žatec who had been deported and killed.
- Sponsoring and collecting money for the reconstruction of the historical fountain on the main square (former Ringplatz), according to old pictures.
- Organizing of various cultural events (e.g. new literary competition), sponsoring of sportive events as well as promotion of economic contacts, e.g. to encourage more tourism.
- Looking into the possibilities of youth exchange visits between Czech families in Saaz|Žatec and German families from Saaz in Germany.
- Foundation of a regional monthly paper in German and Czech language with news from the town, cultural and historical topics and articles written by readers.
- Foundation of an „Ackermann“ museum in honor of the medieval epos „Der Ackermann und der Tod“, in memory of the German history of Saaz|Žatec.
- “The Jews of Saaz|Žatec”, a project of the Förderverein der Stadt Saaz/Žatec e.V. in cooperation with the Jewish community of Teplice and town Žatec.
